The Reasons NOT to feed chickens green tomatoe plants or Dried Beans

I am always ask what to not feed chickens and even our Dogs and cats
here are my reasoning points

The reason for not letting chickens eat any kind of bean ie: soy beans etc
id from your own list of things good and bad for chickens
(1 Raw green potato peels

Toxic substance called Solanine
(2 Dried or undercooked Beans Raw, or dry beans, contain a poison called hemaglutin which is toxic to birds.

Some of my own info
(3 Contains a toxin, solanine, which is only found in green tubers and green potato skins.
So avoid feeding green tomatoe plants an green potatoe plants and green potatoe skins raw

(4 Chickens also should not be fed rice dry. It will blow up when in moisture and cause a gut problem in chickens
So always cook it before feeding chickens rice

(5 Tomatoes/Tomato Plants
Also are very harmful to Dogs and cats and cause them to:

(A Green Tomatoe plants Contains toxins (atrppine & solanine) known to cause dilated pupils, tremors and irregular heartbeat. The leaves and stems of tomato plants are the most toxic. Do nt feed them unripe .

(6 Potatoe plants also contain this toxin and are harmful to chickens, cats and Dogs
Most dogs and cats will avoid eating them but if a dog or cat is foraging and thrown out to fend for its self out of necessity will eat things not good for them. As well as chickens

Most things we humans eat will not harm chickens but generally we try and not feed them any thing that is known to harm them from bad toxins.

MIne always have ripe tomatoes too. And people can eat green tomatoes, I thought only the stems, leaves, and roots were poisonous. ?????

I have fed mine rough rice since I got chickens 10 years ago. No problems here.

Just a thought, but I wonder if some of the things listed online (here and/or out there) are 'suggestions' (or beliefs) like eating "organic" is healthier...or...eating "local" is healthier, where some people HAVE TO eat organic, and others don't bother to wash their store bought apple that feels 'greezy'...some folks (I'm sure like animals) have hardy gutts that can stomach some of the wild stuff, where another person will break out in hives if they touch a spec of gluten? ???

I would love a simple list (no reasons listed) just a plain old list that says "here are things Chickens LOVE approved by all" and "here are chicken no-nos that will kill any and all chickens"

I think that when you all have been chicken raisers for a decade you will find they are going to be okay
when they free range they generally know what to eat and not eat
Now when chickens are penned up then you need to NOT THROW any plant that is listed here into the pen
I always planted in my garden Swiss chard
several colors and as cut off above the bottom of the plant it grew back and made more good dark greens for chickens

I never had any trouble with the garden stuff as I knew that tomatoe vines and potatoe vines are bad for chickens

So try not to worry about what is good and what is bad
