solar powered zapper electric fence to stop preditors

This weekeind I am putting up a solar powered fence around the chicken coop (so easy even a child can do it) will "drop" anything that even touches the wire. zzzzzaaaapppp!!!!

(the wire is 3 inches out side of the coop near the bottom.

Go to tractor supply and get one... I will let you know the progress!!!

I love our solar powered fences. We use them for all our livestock. Be aware that something can dig under them, though. Once the line is covered with dirt it doesn't work so well. We just recently upgraded to a larger charger, too. We found that the smaller chargers will get your attention, but the larger one will stop you in your tracks. Good luck. I know you're going to love that fence.
 
I just bought a Mark 7 electric charger for the outside of the chicken coop and inside of a not yet built dog run, I do believe it will work well. I am running three lines, one close to bottom, one in the middle, and one on top..

me too, my "run coop" is mostly wire so 3 electrical wires off of the ground is a good idea.

I am thinking 3 inches away form coop and the height should be
3/5 inches the nest height is 8/10 inches and a third highest is about 12/14 inches. That will stop 'em!!!!!

SUGGESTION: Since we are all burying hardward cloth, you might also bury barbed wire. It takes A L O N G T I M E for it to rust---I'm still cleaning up 40 year old barbed wire from the new fencing job, Feb. 2008, and it's still intact!

I don,t recall what the voltage is on my charger but it is capable of charging 20 miles of electric fence,I know from experience that it will rattle your fillings,,I bought it about 8 years ago to keep bears out of my bee hives,anyone have an idea on the voltage??? I have came in contact with it severak times in the past..

Just remeber to tell any males who ahhh don't go indoors when nature calls that they don't need to contact the wire with moisture, close makes the current jump to the stream. Oh the scream from that one!!

My Dh stays away from our geldings (male neutered horses), when he...does...that
Swears that they'll laugh at him. (It's a size issue...)
I think he avoids electric fences when he...does that...too
