I have a tiny one as well. I need to get a photo. She is about half the size of the other silkies and can run under the legs of the EE's & Orpingtons. She holds her own with the big guys. She is actually quite fast, I have a hard time catching her. Mine are 2 1/2 weeks old. Do you think she will catch up or stay on the smaller side?
I have a black silkie 6 months...My new hatch is almost the same size as her they are 3 months..She or he is very small cant tell...
But that little black silkie is my meanist bird it beats the heak out of all my other birds 3 times its size..
Funny watchin it running after a Maran and orp...
Might be a Dwarf Silkie. I have one also. She is 8 months old, almost 9 months, and she is about the size of a 3 month old silkie. Very tiny. Ive heard they dont live long.
I might have to get some pictures of her and post them.

Hey, I've got one of those too! We were so worried that our little silkie hen would get picked on by the standard girls, until we saw her defend her full-grown australorp "sister". She became ninja-silkie. She jumped on the back of my EE/BO and started pecking her on the head. Then she chased her out of the coop and around the run. All the big chickens have a healthy dose of respect for her and we don't worry about her anymore.
I have two miniatures now, including the one above.
This is Little Charlie and Big Sam, both hatched same day, same batch of eggs (Click for Bigger) And with my quail, Tigger for comparison (Click for Bigger) (Click for Bigger)
Funny how they came from the same hatch and their's such a difference!! They are cute.. How can you tell roos from pullets I think mine are all girls...
I couldn't tell for sure until they were 6months, but I had my idea. Sam always stood up tall as a chick, and had huge "streamers", Charlie was harder to sex, but is also a boy, after a lot of umming and ahhing!
Plus...the best give-away was when Sam started making this strange noise...
