Ages to eat chickens...?

I wish I had that magizine article. I think I suscribed to BY Poultryright after that article! I love Harvey's birds. I wish I could contact him and buy about 20 chicks.
Do you have any pics of your brood hen + her chicks with the rest of the flock? It seems like no one belives in this method anymore, and I haven't found many pics on google with a mixed flock of hens, roosters and chicks.
again, THANK YOU! lol

I totally agree about not liking to re- introduce the birds to the flock, causes picking, fights, alot of stuff that could have been left out. And mama chicken will take care of the babies so I dont see anything wrong with raising them with the others if she has enough space.

No pics, sorry, don't own a camera, just not interested. There are others on BYC who raise chicks like this, and believe in letting the flock sort it out for themselves. There were roos in the flock the first time my broody raised a chick. They helped parent the chick.

Wow, thats great! I think raising the chicks within the flock is better then seperating her untill they grow up. The rooster helps, the mother helps, there is tons of portection for the chicks. I love it! My red rooster wouldn't harm the chicks but he was more interested in the hen then them. lol

The only problem I have with raising chicks with the flock is, what happens when 2 VERy aggressive broodies get into a fight?
