I have 5 Peking ducks but I cant tell the sex of the birds, I have found some eggs but do not know who is laying them. Thanks

Yes, the drake has a curled feather on his back like my avatar, Mucky. The females have a raspy quack and when they all sound off together, I like to say it sounds like a bunch of grandmas playing poker and one of them said something to make them all laugh. The drake has a soft voice like the trolling motor of a boat. Don't know if that's for all breeds but I think it's pretty common. If yours all look alike and some are laying eggs, I think they are all females. Especially if you have not noticed any mating behavior. Although my females will imitate mating with each other. So listen to see if any have a different voice and look for the curled tail. Males will also do a funny trumpet sound to kind of show off. They will puff up their heads and rear back and lift their chest out of the water making a sort of grunt.

female ducks honk really loud and males have a low, raspy quack
u can sex the ducks wen 1st born by looking in thier vents.. dnt try unless ur an expert
not all male ducks tails turn

All male Pekin ducks have a couple curled tail-feathers.
Some different breeds do not, but most males can be distinguished by these 'drake feathers.'

Pic is of Guy. hes my HUGE 3 year old Pekin Drake. One day I started calling him Guy and it just stuck. Guy's original name was 'Fluff' but it just didn't seem fit him. ;P

To me the best way to tell is by the sound of the quack. The hen ducks have a loud QUACK QUACK QUACK. The drakes make a low noise that sounds like it is coming from down in their throat.

When they're ducklings you have to vent sex them. You turn the duckling upside down and pull the tail back and spread the vent open with your index finger and thumb and look for a penis. Its tricky at first. The best time to do it is when they are a couple days old
