Georgia Giant Quail - Page 2

We currently have 4...1 hen and 3 roos. They are very sweet, calm and talkative. Had them since last Sept. Does anyone have any Georgia Giant quail hens in the Kansas area? Looking for more hens.

JJ has not been on BYC in nearly 2 years. In this time I have even tried to PM him with no reply.

As for the Butler eggs, you will have a hard time finding Bobwhite eggs this time of year. Your best bet is in the up coming spring. :-)

Where did you get the mead birds from?

Roger GGs are georgia giants are the largest of the bobwhites and considered the largest quail available to us in quantity. They are bobwhite quail very similar in appearance to northern bobs except they look like they are wearing a fat suit. They make excellent table fair and provide more meat than most quail can. They do not make good birds for gun dogs, in my experience well trained dogs just snatch them off the ground live before the little tankers can start flying.

What size pen do GG need? I have 10 eggs about to hatch and want to built a pen for when they move out of the brooder.

The one's I have are much larger and more colorful than Bob Whites.
