Raising quail for eggs

I am interested in getting some quail for eggs. What kind of quail do most people raise if they have eggs in mind. Does it matter much?

I loving husband, 1 Dogo Argentino,  1 Belgian malinois, several barn cat, 3 horses, 4 goats, lots of chickens, turkeys and guineas. Did I already mention the loving husband?!?!??! *****I'm a girl!!!!*****

Hello,
I believe Coturnix Quail are the egg-laying champions of the world. Given mild weather, and 14 hours of light a day, up to 300 eggs per year can be expected from a healthy female Coturnix. Shorter hours of light, and colder temperatures, will reduce the egg production. Supplemental lighting can be added, when the natural daylight hours become shorter.

Coturnix Quail Eggs For Sale: they are assorted colors, Brown, Texas A&M, Tuxedo, and Tibetian.

I almost hate cracking them open because they are so pretty (I am such a girl sometimes! LOL)

7 quacking ducks, 5 spazzy quail, 3 lazy cats, 2 grown sons, 1 goofy husband... and no partridge, but I have a pear tree!

lau you're cracking me up- "I'm such a girl sometimes"- that is something I say all the time and people look at me funny and say "you are a girl!

my 2 cents match the above- Coturnix are awesome for eggs- I'd say I've got an egg per day from each of my hens with the exception of days when they get stressed, which isn't that often! They are egg making champs for sure!

one of mine even consistently lays a blue egg with brown speckles- it is beautiful!

At 6' tall and being built like a linebacker, I get called sir more often than mam tongue  (It's not so bad now that I grew my hair long but when it was short...LOL)

There are girls and then there are girly girls. I am not a girly girl...well...unless there is a shoe sale involved! (Or a pile of pretty quail eggs big_smile )
