I posted yesterday about our City Council having the Central Oklahoma Neighborhood Alliance send out a survey for input about allowing Backyard Chickens. Please help us change the zoning ordinance by sending your two cents on BYC. Just go to the web site nacok.org and you will see the link for the quick survey. It probably only takes a minute. Please do help!

I voted and filled out the form!!! I am allowed to keep chickens, and my family was allowed to keep chickens in their neighborhood because it was grandfathered in(though they had gotten rid of them before I came along)

This is what I wrote in the comment box. You're only allowed 50 words or less, so hopefully it made an impact!


"Chickens are easy, economical and clean to keep. It is an affordable and healthy way to have fresh food for your family, and if you so choose, they make great pets. Allowing chickens to be kept in Oklahoma City, is a great way to for the city to advance it's progressive image."
