Yay! The end of the eternal kitchen remodel!! PICS ADDED!

Nice kitchen. My kitchen needs redoing too. The awful thing about my kitchen is that there is NOT A WINDOW above the sink to look out while washing dishes and there can't be one cuz its the hot water heater room on the other side of the wall. All my house I ever lived in had a window over the sink. I keep saying I'm going to put up a poster but haven't gotten to it for 18 years now. But I do have a bedroom under remodel right now, I'll have to post pictures!!

Sadly I don't have any before pics of the sink area. I have this one that I took before I bought the house. Not my stuff, but this is the original floor, counters and wall color though. The sink and faucet were generic stainless steel.

Yeah, the house is full of big windows. Makes it a little chilly in the winter, but I love it. The quality of light is incredible. Unfortunately all the windows are painted shut so I don't get the breezes in the spring.

ibpboo- I have a friend that moved her sink from the window to the island that looked out over the den. Crazy girl!

Are the cabinets replaced too or just resurfaced? Soon as i get my remodel pictures loaded into photobucket i will post. You'll be amazed at what the wall we ripped out looked like under the previous paneling. Luckily, my son is doing most of the work here!

I just repainted the cabinets and replaced the hardware. The cabinets are in pretty good shape. There's only the one wall of cabinets. At some point I want to add more on the other side of the room (next to and over the fridge and stove).
I did put in new countertops (and sink and faucet) and replaced the floor. And replaced the dishwasher, which is what started the whole remodel.

The whole thing has been like that kid book "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie".

I can't wait to see your pics. Isn't it fun to see what you discover as you rip your house apart?

I have been reading your post CityGirlintheCountry and keeping my finger's crossed that it would all work out for you!

We just finished a HUGE remodel on our kitchen, well the whole house but our kitchen was really dramtic. We ripped it down to the studs. I was lucky though myself, DH, Dad, and DH's best friend did my kitchen so I did not have the troubles that you had. The only thing we hired out was the granite counter tops.

I am glad you got it done! It looks great nothing like having a new kitchen!!!

Here are some pictures of mine....

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! That turned out so nice. I want granite counters to.

We are renovating our house to update. So far we have the main floor bathroom completed, new floors in foyer that flows in to piano room & updated the piano room. We have lots more to do. We have one bedroom totally gutted upstairs. We've had to do some outside projects to. Our kitchen needs it really bad, but I dread it, b/c it needs to be gutted and space rearranged. Yipes! Not ready for that yet.

Wow, Pony! That's gorgeous! I am so impressed that you guys took it down to the studs. Holy chickens! How did you ever survive the process?

Thanks, HSM! I totally splurged on the sink and faucet, but they're my favorite part too!

Trust me it was hard to live in the garage in the wintertime! We do not have the weather like some of you guys do but of course it was a coldest winter we had, had for years!! I still can not eat anything from the frozen dinner isle at the grocery store!! LOL

Smitty's Farm, good luck with your remodel! We are about finished with our's it takes us longer considering DH works full time so it is his after work and weekends project. Poor guy!
