This is were I'm thrown off. Chicken eggs typically take 21 days to hatch. Correct. And my incubator is an automatic turning unit. It is factory set to stop turning two days before hatching. That is day 19. And everyone says stop turning on day 18. Which is it? Am I missing something?

Sorry. I had it backwards. LOL. The bator stops turning two days prior to hatching. With is day 19. But allot of people say stop on day 18. Post edited

I thought the same way you did.. I too was like so make sure it isn't turning on day 18 or day 19. lOL

Same same way...

Now I just stop whenever my bator says 3 days left...

Sometimes even a day before that, lol, and a day after.. Okay haven't done that yet, but I bet I do one day...
Wink wink

Day 17, 18 or 19 will work. Most do it sometime on day 18. The main thing is to know that its time to stop turning an get your humidity up if you hear chirping no matter what day it is. Otherwise shoot for day 18.
