Help me find a coop idea and or run (pictures as well please)

Hi guys New to backyard chickens!

Coop
I want to build something lightweight
Easy to move to new piece of grass
Needs to be able to hold eight large hens

Run
My idea for a run was to have two runs along side eachother 13ftx13ft roof covered in tin and side and back covered in tin the rest will have chicken wire covering it. But by doing a permanent run i will need to do two chicken house so any ideas are well wellcomed

I have a stationary coop, but am building my new run out of saplings, using basic wattle and arbor inspirations... I think that could work very well for a mobile day run, too, since saplings are lighter than 2x4s.
 
A coop large enough to house 8 large hens will be quite heavy. 8 hens will require 32 sqft of coop space, which is a 4x8 footprint. By the time you build it so that it is predator proof, it will be tough for one person to move. Those A-frame chicken tractors do NOT hold the number of hens they say they can. Maybe bantams. IMHO, build a larger coop than you need. When "chcken math" strikes, you'll be glad you did!
 
I am toying with the idea of building a real coop with a portable run that I could run off any side of the coop. I thought about making a coop/run that I could rotate, but didn't want to give up that much permanent space of my yard. You'd just have to make a door and latch system on whatever sides of the coop you wanted to have a run available so that a predator couldn't bump it out of place and have dinner.

I have to agree with chicken wire not doing anything but keeping chickens in....it will NOT keep predators out, even a cat.

I know what you mean about predators last year i had lovely la bresse (french white hens) I had a trio of them and had two cross of la bresse with a battery hen and la bresse cross black maran Sadly all died to a mink in one night he did not eat them did it for fun i suppose

He got in through my chicken wire run!! So when i say chicken wire i mean the aviary wire ja get me?! I have buff orpington eggs in the bator at the moment there shipped!! i hate shipped eggs their never lucky for me. I got buff brahmas eggs before shipped non hatched as they were scrambled looks like these are the same! If this lot dont hatch i have a friend that has blue silkies that always go broody in spring i may have to get her and a few local orpington/brahma egss to make sure i get some bird!

Any-who Can you guy maybe post pictures of your setup it may give me a better idea as what to do
