Best way to clean wood laminate floors?

I also have laminate floors but they are not sealed......just snapped together like a puzzle....no glue or sealant between boards

I already have a couple of spots that water settled in between the boards and the edges have swelled and the flooring is only 2 years old.

I am afraid to use the steamer because the steam will get in between the pieces and make the edges swell.

Has any of the steamer users had a problem with that ?

I have not found a way yet to damp mop without leaving a film *sigh* it's very frustrating.

A touch of vinegar can help if you have hard water (the hard water leaves that powdery film)

FYI the worst vinyl floor I ever ever ever had to clean, was some one who used mop and glo to shine up her floor, she kept her rental very clean, or so she though. The floor had about an 1/8th of an inch of the build up. We had to melt it off with stripper and a plastic scrapper, it took a full day to get back to the vinyl and get it actually sealed and polished. The Mop n Glo build up had made the floor look dingy over time (the floor was just a couple of years old when she moved in)

I also wonder about using a steam mop.... wont the moisture get into the seams of hte wood and eventually make it buckle??

I let my wife do it! Just kidding. I also use a smidge of dish washing detergent. My mop is damp, not wet. I like Dawn with orange scent. Works great, even here in Noah's ark!
