Thanks Jeremy, your first hand experience is a big help.I remember reading that Harry Lamon had pile markings and salmon breasts showing up for years. The use of good White Dorkings makes sence instead of Silver Dorkings. I recall Yellow house farm working with White Dorkings for good meat carcas, vigor, etc, and sandhill has single and rose comb White Dorkings from same pen matings. The rose comb is easy to breed out.The Dorking lays an almost white egg or slightly tinted/or very light brown.

Jeremy sorry to hear about the fire and the troubles you have had with those people. That is so sad that some people can be so untrustworthy. . It is nice to hear from you as I have visited your website before. Best Wishes getting the your bloodline from the people in California.

Sadly, tossed more eggs yesterday. Busted air cells etc.

Good news! We still have over a dozen good and developing eggs. Hatch due this Saturday!

Will post photos as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, our lone Lamona chick is doing well. Thinking it is a pullet, as no red comb yet.

As I am working on my own poultry breeding projects I always have had the Lamona in mind when it comes to everything but the egg color. I want a similar shaped bird with yellow skin that lays those darker brown eggs (not even my wyandottes or RIR's lay that dark of egg) with 4 toes, smaller single comb or even rose comb, and color doesnt so much matter. I will be keeping an eye on this project to see how it turns out for you.
