I agree with most everyone here. Mice are nasty little pests. My solution usually consists of a shovel. I havent lost a bit of sleep over it either.
 
I find a size 12 put down firmly gets rid of the problem. Understand that I hate disease carring vermin and mice are right at the top of the list. Them I send them to the state via the sewer system.
