I wanted to add something to my "want" list. I have decided I need two new muscovy duck hens for my garden. I am looking for hens old enough to be sure of gender and to be outside in the garden. I am looking for chocolate, chocolate pied, or lilac pied.

So here's my update:

Have: Lemon Cuckoo Orpington birds, chicks, hatching eggs
Tolbunt Polish birds, chicks, hatching eggs (hopefully)
Misc. colored polish birds, chicks, hatching eggs
BBS Orpington birds, chicks, hatching eggs
Lavender Orpington birds, chicks, hatching eggs
Buff Laced Polish rooster
Gold Laced Polish rooster
Wheaten Marans rooster
Probably some d'uccles (somehow I keep ending up with more of these

Want: Muscovy duck hens (chocolate, chocolate pied, lilac pied)

Hurray! Cinco de Mayo. Are we going to have a Mariachi band?

Too bad about the food laws, or I could sell duck tacos.

Is there space reserved in the park? Because I bet there will be other stuff going on. I think it is a great date for a poultry swap.

LOL Didn't even think of that! And that's usually a day I think of, as it marks the anniversary of my broken shoulder and only extended hospital stay!

No, you can't reserve space in the park, but it's big and there should be plenty of room. Last spring, we did it the day before Easter, and there were Easter egg hunts and picnics all over the park...made for lots of walk through traffic!

We'll be there early enough that marking off our space won't be an issue.

Awesome date! I didn't think of that either lol....I'll be flying back in on the 3rd or 4th so it will be nice to come and relax after my vacation

Not sure I will be able to badger anyone into coming up with me (loooong commute with chickens is not a great selling point!) and I don't travel alone. I really WANT to come!
I am going to be optimistic and start my list as though I get to go.

Planning to bring:
Chicken salad bars (chicken-proof planters)
Herb/veggie starts for chickens and humans
Possibly some Aloha project chicks and/or hatching eggs (see link for pics and details https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=600281)
Feather
crafts (masks, hair and hat adornments)

Wanting:
Feathers (especially pheasant)
frozen (or fresh) pelts and feet to use for crafts (any animal, I am not picky!)
raw wool (I just started working with and sharing my wool from the fall swap and I doubt it will last till spring!)
Turkeys? (nothing white, but I am open to other colors)
Possibly buff rock hens/pullets
Possibly spotted LF chickens to add to my Alohas

Hi guys...thank you for the birthday wishes. I know...I didn't see them last week because I wasn't on BYC. I have not had a moment to spare and when I get on BYC I lose track of time. I've been super busy with our 4-H/Alpenrose Christmas at Dairyville event. I just gotta keep reminding myself that all this work is worth it because it benefits Multnomah County/Alpenrose 4-H programs. Once this is over I plan on hanging out here or on the OR thread more. The critters are handling it quite well. The only minor problem is that my little wether shetland sheep won't let anyone but me sit with him in Storybook Lane. He's a real mama's boy...I have totally spoiled all of them but he's the 'neediest'!
