Hi from Ga. This isn't a mystery swap so you shouldn't have any problem asking if you know who will be sending them.

I sent a PM to the 2 names I got letting them know I was thier swap partner and gave them the option of knowing what is coming...One of the senders to me did the same but I still havent even heard who my other sender is!!!!???? I am sending pures and a couple mix eggs...plus extras!!

Ok This is driving me Crazy!!

what she is sending me!! AWESOME~ BUT the other person is quiet and has not....Please I wanna know!! Some people DON'T wanna know BUT I DO!! I am already planning my super duper Able-to-withstand-a-horrifying-drop-from-a-skyscrapper-packaging! I will be happy to announce to my X2 people who they are and what I am sending! If you are planning to send extra eggs is there a reason why someone would NOT want extra eggs? AND if you are sending a certain type of eggs and want to include extras can they be crosses? Or should we ask our partners? what if they didnt wanna know? hrmmmmmmmmmm?

but i do!!pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee

I hadn't really thought about communicating in advance with my swap partners. After reading what other were saying, I did PM the 2 people I'm sending eggs to. I haven't heard from the 2 that are sending eggs to me. I'm also pretty excited about the swap. I thought I wasn't going to have my new incubator but I think everything has been worked out. Custom Incubators just changed ownership. I found out when I got an email saying my money was being refunded. I thought it would be arriving any day. Obviously it is way too late to start a new order with anyone (being on the west coast). I have at least 5 1/2 dozen eggs pre-ordered, in addition to the swap eggs. I have been assured that I will have a new bator in about a week. Phew!

I have to share a super thing happening in one of my LG bators. I won an auction for some Bad Azz silkie eggs. I was sent 17 eggs. All 17 are showing perfect development and are due to hatch next Sunday. I have never had anywhere close to that kind of activity on shipped eggs. On the other hand, I have a batch of dark brahma eggs that look to be 100% duds. My Lav AM's in the same bator as the DB's are also looking great. Go figure! I've had a few batches of shipped eggs this season with zero chicks hatching. Very sad.

Here's hoping we all have great success with these swapped eggs!

NOT so great thing for the day: We ordered some eggs not long ago and had THE MOST HORRIBLE packaging for those eggs....no they werent broke! BUT they SURE played po socccer with them! No kidding Each egg was bubble wrapped....then put into an envelope NOT IN A CARTON or anything just free knockin around in the envelope then in a box with newspaper around in there...I was SHOCKED,I mean evey one does things different but REALLY that was ridiculous. ANd those eggs ALL have wonky air cells with Actual BUBBLES in the eggs! If these hatch or form anything it will be a miracle! SO the moral of the story here is please everyone PACK those little life capsules carefully....IF you don't think you have enough stuff to pack them carefully and tightly Then get stuff before hand! We won't have time to pack and send again or will iss our Valentines hatch!!!! Just sayin...This IS kinda a one shot deal...sorry for the rant but those were 40 dollar eggs! grrr

$40 and they couldn't even pack them right?

I ordered from 2 places on eBay which I have never done before. One set came wrapped only in newspaper and one came set in egg cartons that were wrapped in bubble wrap then packed in paper. None were broken, but I think I was lucky.

I have the worst luck with shipped chicken eggs. My first order from Ebay was 40 eggs and 2 hatched. Second was the NYD swap eggs, 6 and none hatched. Now I've got 18 due to hatch on 01/21 from an auction here on BYC and I'm already down to 9 that look like they have a chance of hatching. I've bought tons of button quail eggs over the net and had a great hatch rate with those. Don't know why I'm having trouble hatching shipped chicken eggs.
