I had a hen picked at by another hen about two weeks ago. The injured hen has never been herself since then, but injuries are fine. Tonight I when I was checking on her I found that her crop is like a water balloon. I vomitted her and attempted to feed her some plain yogurt and some bread soaked in olive oil, but was not able to get much in her. I always put ACV in their water. Should I keep trying this for a few days or should I get some monistat for fer?
 
I have been dealing with sour crop for 3 months now, with no joy. I tried all the home remedies first and only recently started with the fungal meds, but i think i may have left it too late.
I would start her on the anti fungal meds asap if you can.
 
Look at the monistat link I posted. I might try that tomorrow with my girl. She is like a water balloon, but there is not blockage in her. The last girl I vomited died, so I am scared to do that. I gave her a bit of olive oil, and I saw her eating so hopefully tomorrow she will be better. If not, I will try the monistat.

Sorry for my ignorance, i am in the uk and have not heard of monistat. Can you be a bit clearer and point me to what it is?

its for feminine yeast infections. Cant imagine that that would taste good, but if it works then awesome!!!
 
My girl is still like a water balloon but I cant seem to get her to regurgitate. Maybe I am doing it wrong. She is all puffed out too.. she was eating earlier... sigh... this is so frustrating as I just seem to be battling illness all the time with these girls!! I just got one on panacur for gapeworm, and now after I put her back in I have a crop issue. The last girl to have this lost all her feathers and died... I am so scared to lose my baby.
