Hey ya'all....so I picked up five cochin chicks....bantams...the tiniest things I have ever seen! Too cute....however there is somethign different from my last set of babies-all full sized....they are seriously needy in the poop department! I am having to wipe their little bumms DAILY to get off the covering of poo!! i did read that this should be done if they get impacted there, and that certainly seems to be the case-There does not seem to be any way they can poo through that covering...it is pretty good sized by the end of the day. I have been taking wet rag with warm water to the back end and cleaning them off, which at least this is getting them handled considerably, but at the same time, they are going back damp under the lights and I am concerned that this may open the doors for chill etc...So do I let the poo issue go and let them groom themselves-which obviously they are NOT doing as I am having to do? I began doing this after a couple of days when I saw they were not. Any suggestions????
