Needing a good prov-en dog to protect my poultry. Must hate coons as much as I do. I do not want another egg sucking dog, or a baby duck killer. PM me if you have, or know of any, and for how much. I'm in NE Oklahoma and will drive a long way to pick up one or two guaranteed good proven ones.

No interest in puppies? I have Great Pyrenese mix puppies ready to go. Their parents (both rescues) are great. They unfortunately got under the fence before we could get the mom spayed. Both dogs are great with the chickens and ducks. Puppies being exposed right now to the chickens and ducks. We are in North texas East of Fort Worth by 20 minutes. Oh and their free or $15 each with shots and deworming.

Adopt yourself a Running Walker Foxhound. They are related to walker coonhounds but they're quieter, less goofy and they're excellent with chickens. I found one on the side of the road here in eastern NC and I took her home and babied her, got some weight on her. All of my neighbors have to keep their chickens penned up but between her and my pit bull, nothing comes on this property. The pit bull had to become acquainted with the shock collar in order to gain some manners around the chickens (he killed 6 the day I brought him home). The Walker Foxhound didn't bat an eye when she saw her first chicken. They like to wander, so I had to tie her for the first few months, but once she found out where her bread was buttered, I could let her roam. I can hear her out there at night baying and chasing down whatever is out there. She comes home in the morning, so exhausted that she shakes and I have to feed her double for a couple of days, but boy does she get the job done. I don't like her to roam all of the time, I don't have a lot of land, so I got one of those Perimeter brand Wi-fi wireless fences and she stays put when I want her to.

A friend of mine has a Great Pyrenese who stopped the racoons flat. Its a big hairy dog, and it would be hot if you're not in the mountains, but its an option.

Try petfinders, put in your zipcode and enter the breed of dog that you're interested in and it will give you adoptable dogs in your area

Awesome price, too bad you are not in Ohio, I would snatch one of those in a heartbeat. I have a 6 month old and love her too death, would have definitely taken one to keep her company.
