Why have a Rooster if you want just eggs?

Lots of good advice in this thread. We started out wanting 5-6 hens for eggs this year - got 13 straight run chicks hoping to get at least 5-6 hens. Our 2 remaining Roos - Alfie & Chicken Little are amazingly docile and friendly. We will see what the neighbors think when they start crowing! As a matter of fact, Chicken Little acts more like our dogs than a chicken - here is a picture of lying at my feet. I think if you get chicks, you will discover their personalities as they mature and can determine if keeping or removing from the flock is best for you and your situation.
