Big day today. Lots of tomato plants to set out in the garden and a berry patch to work on. I don't know if I'll get all of these planted today, but I'm going to try.
I just finished giving the plants a good soaking with water so they're in good shape to go into the ground.
We get to forage for food today. We had a bulb farm 40 years.
They closed this last year retired.
I have not been able to grow or buy marigolds down the road a mile a little nursery opened they are trying he is Spanish very respectful.
he has grown 100 of the darn flowers. And many many others.
I put 16 currant plants into the ground today. I don't know if I'll have the energy to plant my tomatoes today too, but I might try. There's alway tomorrow...
Tomatoes planted today too, I had them hardening off outside the last couple of weeks since they outgrew the grow lamp inside.
Planted basil and peppers as well.
Assorted seeds are sprouting all over the place but most of the plants are still small. I'll probably plant green and wax beans and squash next week, once we're past this short hotter spell, and that should be it for seeding for the season.
Planting tomatoes will have to wait until tomorrow. I left the tomato plants out in the bright sun most of the day today, and will leave them outside overnight to give them a taste of cool temperatures.
I got my tomatoes planted a couple days ago. I use a pipe, a heavy duty cage and a wall o water. Usually I use red plastic mulch but this year I’m not bothering with it. I’ll grow some greens around the wall o waters which will be done long before the tomatoes need the space.
