Are they making a trilling noise or are they kinda huffing? this is an older drake but you can hear the sound he makes.

A wild wild guess would be white=male and brown=female. But still too young and differences are too small.

Right now, they only make duckling sounds with squeaks and chirps.

They actually look around the same size and it sounds like for sure the white one is a duck. I think in the next 2-3 weeks you'll see a big difference and if you have a drake you'll know it.

I was actually looking for the answer to this. A couple days ago when I picked up one of my barred Muscovies, she started making a low honking noise. Almost like a quack but not quite. I thought this particular barred was a male but all the males only hiss. So I'm assuming only females make this noise? I was going to pick up 2 of my chocolates (thought they were male/female) but since they are the same size, don't seem to be getting any bigger, now think they are girls.. Guess I'll test my theory today lol also my females are mute. I have 2 adults (they are black) who never make a noise.
