i'll send "the kitchen sink" to ya on May 20th
some will lay till they get the size cluch they want
there are times when that # could be 30,40 or 100
silly hens : )
one of out silkies keeps going broody so we put some of this & some of that up under her
we will now see in 21 days if she hatches em out.
Getting the flock out of here phase III is well underway.
I will be taking a combination of local and shipped eggs.
I am determined to give them a fighting chance.
I have prewired the STC-1000 thermostats and tested them here in the USA. I will replace all mechanical thermostats on my incubators in the Philippines.
I have dehumidifiers to decrease humidity as well a scale and candling LED flashlight to monitor the eggs.
My flight leaves on Thursday May 23. I arrive Friday May 25 and will set the eggs on May 26 (it will actually be May 25 in USA). I should not have any eggs more than 7 days old. most of the local eggs will be 4-5 days old.
I plan to leave a control sample here in USA - 12 shipped eggs and 12 locals that I can compare hatch rates against.
I have an interesting "honey do" job while I am there. Because of the adoption, we are required to reside for 6 months in Cavite near Manila. I am tasked with driving the car solo across 4 islands and 3 ferries. I have to leave on Tuesday May 28 in order to get to Cavite on the evening of May 29, in time for my daughter's birthday on May 30.
I will cruise past Piglett's wife's family's island. I will take lots of pics.
The adventure continues.
thanks Mr P.
I have some Lavender orps coming as well.
This time around I am determine to get your guys to hatch.
I am hoping my January hatched chicks are laying in 2 weeks. Some should be any day now. Several mutts come from early layer breeds - barred rocks, leghorns. RIR. I am not sure about the others. Maybe another month. I have some ceramic eggs to leave in the nest boxes
The RLB Wyandottes should go broody this year.
If all goes well, next trip will be July 4 week.
That will be duck breeds, exotic chickens and banties to sell with small coops.
i have moats (buckets filled with water and a few drops of bleach) on the legs of the tables that the incubators are located
