you just have to pay a couple local guys p300 a day each to go pick it up down by the ocean

i know the masons there get the huge sum of about $10 a day
it's the cement that adds up fast if you are doing a big project
The rails will be good for 10 years at least. I will use 3/8th stainless threaded rod to attach them to the posts. It will add $200 to the price.
This is more of a question of aesthetics.
I could go with cinder block very cheaply really but we are after a certain look - the silhouette of the bamboo at sunrise and sunset.
We have a little government agency called the DNR - it does not look kindly on people pulling their own rocks and gravel. Its regulated.
At home depot gravel is $27 for 9 cu ft. I am getting 216 cu ft for $86.
Cement is $7.76 a bag in LA versus $5.45
Our laborers to help Bernie will get paid the prevailing day wage for an agricultural worker - about $7 per day plus travel ($1.50) from the local city plus lunch.
