Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Beautiful photos, Sally!

I use IrfanView to modify my photos. You can download it for free. You open a photo, highlight the place you want to put text, hit Edit > Insert Text, (pick your font, size and color, and voila! I usually just put a small watermark in a bottom corner, but you can make it as large as you want, and put it anywhere you want.

awesome! and that image is too cute!!! can u save the layer or do you have to redo it everytime?

To my knowledge, Irfanview does not have the option for layers. There is another freeware program called GIMP that does have this option. It's more in depth and takes a little longer to learn, but it's a good program!

I have a variety of art programs that all can do layers. OpenCanvas is free and it's very good at doing layers (you can change the opacity of the layers even, so you can make it as faint as you want).

Another alternative to GIMP is Seashore. That's the one I turn to when I'm doing basics like resizing or adding a watermark. It's much more user-friendly. GIMP is the free alternative to Photoshop, and the interfaces are similarly difficult to understand.

The things you learn on a chicken site. lol

I am on day 2 of a nasty cold that has kept me home from work. I am living life through chemistry.

Horrible cold. Just horrible.

I am a total whimp when I am sick.

I need chicken soup
