Mule duck breeding plan!

Pics
I have always been really fascinated by mule ducks (Muscovy cross mallard derived duck) so I have decided to do the cross myself and see what I get!

A lot of the mules and hinnies I have seen are very striking birds, and variation between them is so varied depending on the parents used. I will have to stick to moulards (Muscovy father) as none of my mallard derived drakes wanted to take part in breeding with a scovy female LOL, Which is a shame because the female hinnies would have been more what I'm after, as they are smaller and lay eggs apparently unlike the moulard females. None the less it's going to be very interesting to see what I breed and what colours etc they will be!
Ok so here is the father and mothers to be! PS girls are both laying and the drake has successfully mated both of them. PPS he is not a huge scovy drake and the ducks are bigger than my scovy females so mating was not an issue nor was it cruel to the ducks.

Here is my scovy boy I'm using, I think he is a bronze? His mother was a blue ripple and his father wild type.

Here is the first female I'm using, she is a runner x

And here is the second duck (dusky pied)

I would love to breed some mules, I have read it can be kinda hard to get the Muscovy drakes to breed with mallard hens and the fertility can be low. You don’t seem to have that issue 🙂. Do you have any tips?
I currently have Pekin and Swedish hens. I’m looking to get some Muscovies. Can I keep the Muscovy and Pekin hens together with a drake, or will he just ignore the Pekins if Muscovy hens are available? Any pointers would be appreciated.
