I got my new replacement chicks from Meyer hatchery for the ones that died yesterday. One little one was very week, couldn't walk. We figured she was just dehydrated so we gave her water, she perked up a little, but has since than gotten bad. She doesn't eat, and will only drink if you put a drop on your finger and drop it in her mouth, she sometimes spits it all back out. We gave her sugar water and the save a chick medicine. She can't walk, she scoots around, very week, very runny poop, won't eat and she can't peep, she tries but can't. I put a hot pack in for her to sleep on. Does anyone have any ideas what I should do. I did see her try and clean her wing a little bit. She also doesn't open her eyes very often.

I am no expert, but I won't lay any funny business on ya. One of my bantam chicks was older when this happened but, weirdly enough, she was up and ready the day after it got really bad. But, if you use Manna Pro® Chick Starter Medicated from Tractor Supply Company, like I gave the bantam chick, there is about a 87% chance of her pulling through. Hope this information helps!

That's what I give my chicks for the first month or so. She's a few days old, she is really bad, she's going to die, shes so weak now that she lays on her side. I wraped her in a towel and I'm just going to let her sleep and what ever happens, happens. Its very sad though, I just don't like seeing them suffer.

Whenever I get new chicks I dip there beaks into water and then pour food crumbles on the paper towel on top of the litter. Then I put out the GroGel that usually comes with the chicks. I haven't had the trouble you are having, but it is pretty hot now, so I believe your chicks are getting pretty stressed during shipping. Sorry they are not thriving.

She died... She tried to hang on but couldn't. I don't know what was wrong with her, the others are perfectly healthy, she may have had something wrong on the inside with her organs. O well, iT happens, she was good while we had her. The two others love to snuggle and be with me where ever I go, they are very healthy and are already scratching and trying to take "dirt baths" in the bedding, I think she was sick and didn't pull out of it. She's in a better place now.
