I have been following this story on Facebook about Carla Cheney , who on her way into work at walmart, stopped a guy who left his Newfoundland in a car. It was 90 degrees out. She told him she wouldnt', and he told her to mind her own business. So she goes inside and approaches the manager, and tells him and he says that she should mind her own business. So she calls the SPCA, and they come and get involved.

After that, her manager fires her for being rude to a customer. (Whatever). So he did this after the dog incident? And it just so happened that it happened to another employee a week before named Sean something.

If you type in Carla Cheney on FB, you'll hear it all. Now walmart is hanging signs all over telling people to not leave children or pets in the car. There's a big Boycott forming. I guess you can't have morals and keep your job at the same time with some employers. It's a darn shame.

Look up how many children have died from being left in the car for 2013. So far, it's more than you would ever thnk!

That's horrible that she got fired. Of course when it comes to kids being left in the car, it is actually against the law, and I wouldn't be surprised if leaving animals in a car is against the law in some areas. I guess the moral of the story with that particular manager is don't bother telling him, just make a report to the SPCA directly. Now that there is attention due to Facebook, at least they have warning signs in the parking lot. Honestly, there should be an educational campaign with signs in parking lots, because I read in the newspaper and hear on the local news about kids dying from being left in a hot car, but most people don't watch the local news or read the news paper.

I live like 30 min away from where this happened. There is laws in Canada, but it's a slap on the wrist.. We need to be more like the American's when it comes to jailing people ;)

It's very sad she got fired, but she had already had another job offer :) At Canadian Tire, which is all most across the road and sell some similar things to Walmart. (Not clothes or food, but toys camping stuff ect.)

I needed a few things last week, and guess what, Canadian Tire is where I went. People around here are voting with their wallets. I hope that manger gets into "trouble"

I've had a run in with him, a lot of their carts, have wheels that make noise, like a flat tire sort've thing.. Anyways, drives me nuts..So loud, I walk fast, and can go up and down ever isle in 20 min. I have kids, and rush after work to do shopping and get home. Anyways, I complained to him about the carts.
First he said every store is like that... I said no, their not, they get people in to fix them. It shouldn't take me five tries to get a cart that works right. Then he said, nope other stores do not get people in to fix them. (I have family that works at another walmart) Yes they do, once a month, all carts are gone through and fixed. Well there's nothing we can do about that.. That's what he told me.. So I said, well, then I won't be going up and down every isle, as the noise gives me a headache, so I guess I will spend less money per visit at your walmart...
The man is a ______ I will just leave that blank...

Why on earth do folks think they need to take their dogs to Wal-Mart? And who puts a Newfie in a car, anyway? I can't imagine the mess. But, I'll bet that dog's heatstroke threshold was a lot lower than a lot of other breeds, so good for her.

people can be idiots.
Our dogs just love going for rides and our Lowes and Petsmart are encouraging of visits. great for socialization which makes a big dog safer to be around. I admit, I have brought my newf-sized dog in the car with me millions of times but I'd never leave them in a hot car. if you must run in to get something, get a second set of keys (I keep an emergency set in my purse) and leave the AC on for the dog. and make it a very short visit. who knows hat trouble a dog can get into if left for too long...

People leave dogs in cars at my job everyday. I mentioned one day that I've been really tempted to call the cops cause these ppl won't think twice about leaving them in the cars for hours to one of the managers and he said if the ppl complained to home office I could loose my job if they complained enough.

Also a couple years ago in the middle of summer I ran into petsmart to get something and someone had left their dog in the car with the windows up. Idk what ended up happening cause I had to go but seriously it's petsmart your allowed to bring your dog in, why leave him in the car where he could of likely died that day in that kind of heat?!

I have notified store customer service and they announce over speakers to person left dog in vehicle type and license number to please report to service desk. One lady was so nasty I called our animal shelter and was told they take calls seriously they requested license number and told me police will report to her address and give her warning another offense a hefty fine. Another time a lady left a Yorkie in car while she ate inside a resteraunt that had a patio. I went inside and confronted her. Response was "too hot outside". I politely suggested she take care if her dog because I wasn't leaving until she did so. Her recently served meal became carryout. People are soooo clueless sometimes.

That's a really stupid answer from management. Just be sneaky about it. Some people are stupid.
