ASK ME!!

Question regarding ACV. I have the organic kind with tge mother in it but nowhere on the bottle does it say to refrigerate after opening. I didn't and now it smells like it's working. I mean like it's turning.

Is it still ok to put in water for chickens? Should bottle be put in frig after opening? My chickens are just over 3 months old.

No it does NOT need to be refrigerated but does need to be stored in a cool location... The bottle should have a "best used by" date on it so i see no problem giving it to the chicks as long as it is still within date and been kept in proper conditions. Since you have the one with the mother in it you should shake the bottle well before serving to remix the contents.

Me personally if i had something that i doubted i wouldnt serve it but thats just my opinion.

I hope this helps if you need more information i would be happy to help!

The expiry date is 2016. But it was definitely working. Maybe because it has been hot and I had this out in the garage which is fairly cool but not air conditioned.

Hoping you are still taking questions. I have 5 chicks due to arrive in the mail tomorrow and am so nervous. I have had meat birds from a week old until 5 weeks old who then went to a friends house to finish growing and 2 chicks that are now 6 weeks that I got at 4 weeks.

What type of waterer should I use? I will be working for the first 2 days they are here and I am super paranoid they will get wet with a dish or drown in a chick waterer.

You don't have to be so paranoid! Your chicks will be fine with a standard chick waterer that all the poultry supply stores sale. If you just can't get it off your mind then you might add some small rocks to the trough of the waterer leaving just enough room for the chicks to get their beaks in without being able to stick their whole head in.

Hundreds of thousands of little chicks have been raised with the chick waterers as their first drinker when they first get out of the shipping box and most near all of them are still surviving today. Show them where the water is and let em go, make sure their warm and have a little feed to eat and they will be fine.

like loneoak said... you dont have to be so paranoid just a regular one will do just fine!

We settled on a little one quart waterer with marbles in it. They are due to arrive in about a half hour at the post office. Just waiting for the call!
