Hoover's Hatchery?????

I just received my chicks from Hoovers hatchery today.. i have never ordered from them before thought id try them out...I received a email stating when they were to be shipped and got another email the day they shipped out..i was concerned because our weather took a nose dive..and they can take 1-2 days on avg. Mine were 2 days in transit opened the box at the post office all are alive..got home counted them.. all 25 are there plus 2..will update on health in a week or two...but so far all seem good.they were quick to go to the water and food..I also think the hatchery sent them with some sort of gel feed/electrolytes as there was a green reminants in the middle of the box.

I lost 4 of my chicks after a day of them being here and 1 more on the 2nd day...the ones that didnt make it seamed a little woozy..i think a flight and the usps didnt settle good ontop of the cold weather...the others are great very chirpy and lively..i contacted the hatchery by e-mail w/ in 48 hrs and by phone today.Theres a note on my account so the next time i order it goes towards it.(they asked what i prefer)nice people to deal with...i will be ordering again but waiting for a little warmer weather..
 
I've never personally ordered from Hoover Hatchery, but I have a good friend and neighbor who has ordered from them several times and likes their birds and service. He's never had any problems with his orders from Hoover.
 
I ordered my chicks (36 of them) through Hoover's. They came through without issue. I was expecting an email reporting that they HAD been shipped (even though I knew approximately when they would be), but none came. Luckily I prepared ahead of time. I was just about to jump in the shower that morning and the post office called telling me the birds were in.

Good thing chickens don't care about my bad hair days!

The price was better than the other hatcheries that I looked into and it only took one day for them to get here from IA. I will most likely use them again when we order more.
