There are recycling stations (to drop off stuff to be recycled into new items glass, paper, metal etc) that are run by the county in my area and there is a shed that you can drop off reusable items many people drop off their egg cartons there since if it's not the paperboard type it can't be recycled, and it takes up space in the trash bag if you throw them away and we are charge by bag for disposal of our garbage if you take it to the site.
