I was talking to another BYC member the other day about their wedding. It was only too funny to realize that only 2 BYC members could have a wedding registry at a feed store or Hatchery.

My father was raised not to waste anything. He didn't like throwing anything away either. He was a jack of all trades but a master of none. He was always there for me. If something broke down and didn't have the part he knew exactly what he could use to fix it from the stuff he always kept.

I'm not as good as he was but the cooking and canning I can do.

Last fall eldest daughter lives in Poulsbo, Washington they have wild blackberries growing everywhere. She gathered 3 large gallon freezer bags full of them. When I visited her I made blackberry jam, some with and some without seeds. I boiled the seeds and pulp from the seedless and made blackberry juice then added orange jello to it and made a great tasting jelly.
My son, twin to oldest daughter, bought a case of peaches and apples at same time. By the time I left to come home I had made 12 cases of jelly, jams, apple sauce, apple butter, canned peaches.

I had flew up there for two weeks as she was due (pregnant) on the 10th of sept. I flew in and as I was leaving airport got a phone call to go to hospital. She delivered next day. 8lb baby boy named Kaleb. This was my 4th grand child by her, she also has 2 step-sons and an adopted son. Making a total of 7 grand kids from her. I have two other grand kids and another step-grand son from youngest son of middle set of twins. Other two boys one can't have kids, thanks to military drs, and other one doesn't want kids.
