???? Lost 2 Peacocks to?????

how high up were the roost? if they were to high the peacock could have flown into the wall trying to come down and broke his neck, i watch about 40 a day fly down from the trees , the higher they are the father they have to have to fly down remember with a good size train they are probably 5 foot long or more. .

Something simial happened to me.I had sag in my pen so I cut a 2x4 nailed in,went out of the pen and my iijima copper pheasant jumped and hit the exact 2x4 I had just nailed. He died within seconds as they really take off when they jump.

I am thinking the flying into the wall is it. This house I have them in is an A-frame and it is 12 feet high. I have 2x12 as roosts at different hights in the enclosed space. I just got peafowl that plan is to add an additional 10x20' feet of run for them. I am going to remove the roost that I think they are having trouble with.

Oh and I have the wormer already I have chickens and they get wormed twice a year. Waiting for it to warm up for more than 1 day. Their water freezes so I want to wait until I can have the water unfroze to them all day and night and not waste the wormer.

My birds are totally free ranged so i never put wormer in their water, besides they would never drink all the water and get all the worm meds anyhow what i do is either make scrambled eggs and oatmeal and put the wormer in that , they eat all the food and get all the worm meds also so there is no waist at all.

This year I tried getting crumbles (I used medicated turkey starter) and putting the wormer mixed with water in the crumbles along with having medicated water out for them. my peas love eating crumbles when they are mixed in water and are all mushy so that worked well.

Those that know me know that I give *all* medications by mouth, so that's what I recommend. IMO, routine fecals and a consult with a vet is definetly money well spent.
