Jungle fowl questions & pics!

Hello all yesterday I was lucky enough to come across some jungle fowl while purchasing some Silver Pheasants. The gentleman had 2 Green Jungle fowl cocks and some Red Jungle fowl hens along with a wide range of other pea fowl & pheasants. We picked up a trio of silver pheasants and the younger of the two GJF cocks who is almost 2 years old. The man got them all from zoo stock & is expecting some young hens in May.



I have experience breeding some rarer chickens like Golden Phoenix & Black Sumatras among many other breeds and some quail. I've done quite a bit of research on all types of Jungle fowl and am fairly confident I will be able to take care of them however as I myself have had no previous experience with them & there are limited resources to find information on them I would be grateful for any input from anyone who knows anything about keeping jungle fowl happy & healthy.

I have a large aviary that is partially closed in around the top he will share with the pheasants until I get him hens & I am returning to the gentleman's property to dig up some bamboo & other leafy cover for him soon. Right now he is being provided with pomegranate seeds, mealworms, some Purina game bird & some lamb & rice Natural Choice puppy food.

I have a couple of questions...
What do other people feed their jungle fowl?
Are the pheasants OK with him or would something like quail or guinea pigs be better?
What are your experiences with these birds getting diseases & what is the best antibiotic to have on hand for them?

Nice birds. I recall reading that gjf require lots of crustaceans in their diet. Is this in the U.S.?

Yes it is, hot & humid central Florida! & yes I have read that also, I was going to see about getting some kind of krill or shrimp to supplement his diet with.
