Hi
I want to know if this nutrition is good for my goslings:
-rice
-grass
-pinkie worms(1 or 2 per day, because the protein it's not healthy for geese)
They go to ponds and there are a lot of algae with small insects and they it them.
Their excrements smell very bad.
It's to much protein for them? I should remove the worms?
I say that becase I don't want them to have angel wings, they are going to fly when they grow...
Thanks

Anyone know if this diet is good?
Hi muus. Maybe no-one answered yet because they dont know what to make of this diet you have. ?
My goslings always have sweet-smelling poop, as they eat loads of grass and lettuce and other greenstuffs. Rice is ok, but not too much, and the poop could be smelly because of the worms they´re eating. I have to say, my goslings don´t get worms to eat. And I doubt they eat them when they´re free-ranging. I think they´d just look at them and watch as the chicken swiped it away from before them! On the other hand, show them a lettuce and they come running and flying.

I have no idea about what your goslings are eating. Mine get growth formula for water fowl for the first 3 weeks and then I change over to maintenance feed. But most of all they need grass and dandelion leaves to be their main diet. Right now we do not have much grass so I am feeding romaine lettuce to my goslings.

Thank you both.
Mine love lettuce, and when I show them some, they start to tweet a lot and they love eating it. They eat spinacs to, but it's not the same as lettuce.
I can't give him all the lettuce that they want?
Mine when they see a worm they eat it, and with other water insects make the same.
Thanks

Good grass is best, and you can give them all the romaine lettuce they want, as it´s high in goodies, but not the spinach. People on here advise against it. I expect your babies know something instinctively if they´re not too keen on it.

I hought that the small birds we have in cages can't eat lettuce every day because is not healthy for him, but yes spinach.
And spinach have more nutrients than the lettuce....
Thanks
