Three weeks ago, we got a pregnant Nigerian Dwarf who had not been vaccinated for CDT. We vaccinated her as soon as we got her home, and she is due for her second vaccine today. However, her kidding due date (day 150) is tomorrow. Is it safe to give her the second CDT shot today?

I'm not sure to the answer, but post pictures when she pops! My doe is about a month and a halfish away and already as big, if not bigger than right before she kidded with two last year. Hopefully three or more this time!!!

I can't imagine that giving her the vaccine would hurt anything. Probably wouldn't hurt to hold off either. The trouble with giving her the shot now is that if she aborts shortly after you will think the vaccine caused it whether it did or not. As for the babies I used to vaccinate my kids very soon after they were born and then every three weeks (or four, whatever the label said) until they were 4 months old. After that it was once a year. However, I lived in an area where the incidence of entero was very high possibly related to the pH of the soil.
