Yes, the neighbors unfortunately would do something like that. About once a year they like to start some kind of neighbor war and I generally try to avoid playing into it. Apparently it's their way of life where they're from.
We did have issues with their dog up here a couple weeks ago and it is a vicious dog and did call animal control. so truthfully it makes sense they would retaliate like that. They think that's what you do.
At first we assumed it was an animal but the more we stop and think and look, it doesn't seem like a normal wild predator situation. But I want to be prepared if there is wild animal capable of doing this to one of our pets.
I am leaning towards a dog the way they were grabbed in the back and shaken (blood splatters all over) and partially consumed.
We are having more security lights installed today for the back area. The neighbors had complained about them and they suddenly stopped working over the winter. Each house is on nearly two acre lots but they want complete darkness in the area apparently.
Thanks for all the suggestions and if there is a wild animal that can do this, I'd like to know what to be looking for.
