What color is this cockerel?

This isn't really a breed or gender question but I thought this was the best place for this. My solid black cockerel started getting bright yellow feathers on his back and now they're popping up on his head and neck. He's getting more and more every day. I'm wondering if this is a normal color and what he may look like when he's full grown. I've never seen a color like this before.

It's called leakage, it's his gold genetics leaking through the black base color. It's a sign of mixed breeding/genetics, and mine have developed more leakage as they age. Makes for some pretty birds imo

Thank you so much for the info. I think he's gorgeous and he's so good with the ladies. He's not part of any breeding projects so I'm not worried. I actually hope he gets more yellow. Do you have any pictures of yours?
 
None like that at the moment. Mine were mostly black sex link cockerels, with red/gold color coming through on the hackle and saddle feathers. It made a striking, colorful bird, mostly black and white barred with occasional red feathers popping up!
