We are still having a problem with our flock, and I am just trying to get some more info. I have dewormed our flock twice and am getting ready to deworm them again in August with broad spectrum dewormer, because we had a serious problem with capillary worms and also lice/ mites this past spring. I THINK We have the problem more or less under control, as the flock as a whole seems happy and healthy. But we have another hen who is following the same pattern as most of the others we have lost this year...extreme weight loss, lethargy, poor appetite. I am beginning to wonder if there might be something else going on. Yesterday we treated her with cattle Ivermec, and she perked up right away...it was sort of weird, actually. I don't see any bugs on her, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have em. I'm thinking of starting her on a course of Tetracycline...we have Oxytet...does anyone have any thoughts about this?
