Can't tell for sure if our buff is a rooster or hen? Pretty sharp comb and the morning noises sound like maybe crowing? I'm a newbie and not sure... Also roosters are not allowed where we live. Help!

How old is it? That will play into evaluating things like comb/wattle size and color. Can you get a nice side shot that shows the whole bird? Is this your only bird? If not you might want to go ahead and get shots of the rest of your flock too in case the suspicious sounds are coming from someone else.....

It is about 18 weeks? got them in early April as 3 day old chicks. Here are more photos of the others in the flock. We also just started to get eggs yesterday and when we cracked them two had a little red dot? I'm assuming this means they were fertilized?

All your birds look female

Yeah, blood spots get a lot of folks second guessing genders of their birds. So do meat spots, but neither have to do with fertilization. They're just candled out of store bought eggs, so the average person is unfamiliar with them.
