His "belly-button" is swollen. We have put some antibiotic ointment on it to keep it from getting infected, but should I be worried?

It could be omphalitis, and that is serious.

Another page says that Duramycin-10 is a broad spectrum antibiotic. Might be good to familiarize yourself with this, in case you decide to use it.
