Can someone help me answer this question. I'm talking for the long run here. I have baby quails. If I get females and males and I put about 4 cocks with 10 hens. When the hens start laying how do I know there fertile? Do the males have sex and then the hen will lay a number of eggs throughout the week that a fertile? Or does the male have to have sex every time for 1 egg to be fertile? Does the sperm get stored in the hen somewhere?

ns in any cage a hobbyist is likely to build. Unless you have very large cages it is not advised to keep multiple roosters in the same enclosure.
