I have a flock of mixed chickens, I just put a rooster in the flock and it seems that my turkens are picking feathers around his neck out. He does not do anything he just lets them. I have more then enough room for them so I know that is not a problem. I am going to put some no peck on him. Is there anything else I can do. Thanks

I am assuming he is of similar age and size to the others. If he is smaller, make sure he has a place he can escape to until such time that he exerts his dominance. The tide should turn eventually!

Pecking is something to be expected during integration, and normally not too much harm is caused. However, if it gets to the point where he is suffering or blood is drawn he may need to be separated while the flock gets used to him.

You could try putting him behind a wire fence for a while, so he can socialise in safety and the girls can become familiar with him. He would be safe that way, and you could then integrate him a few days later until the cover of darkness.

Good luck!

He is the same size and actually the ones pecking are smaller then him, they are roosting so I went back to put no peck on the area both sides of neck small area they have picked the feathers out but no bleeding, I also read about using Vicks so I will try that tomorrow. Thanks
