Hi Everybody

I am trying to sex these chickens and am failing dismally could anybody help me please. I am fairly new to chickens but with the Australorp in particularly both sexes seem very similar. I have read up on the differences but it is not helping me. I apologise as I have 10 so have numbered them. Any information on sexing for future reference would be great. Thank you

How old are they? Here are my guesses: 1 pullet 2 and 3 cockerel 4 can't tell 5 cockerel 6 cockerel 7 cockerel 8 could be a pullet but not sure 9 cockerel 10 can't tell. Just my guesses and dependent on age but they look young.

Boys tend to be more shiny. Brighter colors in the sun. Girls have the same coloring but far duller.

They are round about 7/8 weeks. Thanks for the input. We bought them for laying hens predominantly so looks like we might have a lot of cockerels

I could be wrong. Wait for others to guess LOL. I am no expert. However, I was duped on this breeds sex before so I did a lot of research. Watched several hours of videos, breed information and looked at thousands of photos. The good news is this breed IS really hard to sex. If you post photos of them in about four weeks I will probably be able to tell for certain.
