chick's crop a little hard.

should I put a time in for placing the food for the chicks? because this afternoon I felt my chick but he's crop was kind of hard. it was he eating because I hold him a lot, would something happen to him or is it okay, it's not that hard i'm just a little worried. he poop's and drinks water.
 
Don't worry. Let your chickens be chickens. When the crop's empty, they're hungry and will fill it. When it's empty again, they'll fill it again. Let them have access to complete feed all the time and you'll have no worries.

If your chick is acting normally and eating and drinking I wouldn't be worried. I've experienced it my self where chicks crops feel and look full. Chicks should have food and water available at all times. Good luck with them :frow
