Rooster with infected Eye (WARNING Graphic Picture)

My rooster got in a fight with some other rooster and he now has white discharge and a white solid coating all over his eyes he cant see at all. I would like to get advise on how to remove that white coating and discharge.

I would recommend reading the thread. The OP posted how they did it and what they used.

I'm BACCCCKKKK. Rooster injured (I assume) his eye again. It's worse than the first time. I let it go too long and didn't realize it was a bad. Anyways, we're doing the same routine as last time and will work to get him better.

Question: Is it typical for a rooster to hurt his eye? I just can't figure out why this keep happening. Is there any kind of chicken 'disease' that would cause eye infections? Although Ican't say it's just an infection, there is injury there. Could he just be a clutsy chicken? His girls and friendly the farm cats are as well. I can't imagine anything is coming around and hurting him.

Any thoughts?
