So I have hatched 2 batches of chicks and I'm hooked! I love it!

Both orders were from Papa' Poultry and I am so impressed with his packaging and customer service BUT he does not carry all the breeds I'm interested in. I have hatched Orphingtons and Light Sussex.

So . . . looking for recomendations from people for any of the following breeds, looking for hatching egg sellers:

Vowerk
Barnevelder
D'uccle
Barbu d'Anvers
New Hampshire

I love Ebay so if anyone has a great Ebay seller I should watch for please share!

Well I'm sorry to say I have one good and one bad. Rare Poultry Outpost in Oregon is Awesome!
Holistic Pastures in Kentucky on Ebay are people to beware of. I won't go into anything that could be seen differently, depending on what side of the fence your on. 6 broken eggs and then a suggestion to contact Ebay for a refund when I asked them to wait to send them until I saw whether the ones that made it were fertile since they guarantee fertility.

I am starting to sell English Lavendar Orpingtons. It is a family project and will teach the kids about how to earn their own money and save their money. I only have 7 beautiful purebred hens and an absolutely georgeous Rooster. We live in Wyoming.

Holistic Pastures in Kentucky was recently selling Ameraucana hatching eggs on Ebay....using MY photo of my own splash Ameraucana, Snow, as well as Meyer Hatchery's photo from their website of a blue Ameraucana hen. This was a photo I had on BYC many years ago (the hen is 8 years old now) and they stole it, reversed it and put THEIR watermark on it.

I contacted them, someone else who recognized my photo contacted them, I contacted Kentucky Proud (they had that logo on my photo as well) and I reported them to Ebay for fraud. They refused to respond. I have no idea where their Ameraucana eggs come from since their actual website has nothing about Ameraucanas on it.

Just saying all this because if you order eggs from them, the birds represented are NOT the birds the eggs come from.

The business is registered to a woman who has criminal records for assault in Ky, but other than that, I have no information. And they certainly do not own my splash hen or Meyer's blue hen, either. The ad is down now, but I keep watching for it to pop back up.

We unfortunately have had some experience with Loretha Adams of holistic pastures. I have tried complain to ebay and Paypal, but, they were not any help. Has anybody else tried complaining to them? We need to get them banned from ebay.

I had a terrible experience with Holistic Pastures.Bought hatching eggs that were supposed to be Silver Laced Orpingtons. They were mixed eggs of some sort. She has pictures up right now that are Greenfire Farms and Urban Farmer. I took the time to check.I also inquired on California Quail eggs asking her how she was getting them to lay in August. They only lay April through June.As soon as I asked it was taken down. I have reported her . Sad that she is making all this money off us.

Considering she used a photo of my own Splash Ameraucana stolen off BYC and put her watermark on it to advertise her BBS Ameraucanas, I would beware this person. She also has a criminal record for assault, mug shot and all. Considering she is using photos from other people's flocks advertising her eggs, you'd best avoid this person. You have no idea what you're buying, none.

See this? Many older BYC folks know my hen, Snow, and know this specific photo, too. The Adams woman reversed it and plopped her watermark on it. Back then, we didn't have the watermark, but no question, this is my photo and my hen.

MY photo. Snow is almost 9 years old now and it was a photo taken back in 2009.

That's horrible, you should find out if you can report her so no one else can make the mistake of buying eggs from her.

I ordered 10 of Holistic Pastures Silver Double Laced Barnevelder eggs off eBay. No idea if they came from good stock or not, because not a single one hatched or even began to develop. When I cracked them open at 22 days they were all clear and looked like they may not even have been fertilized. Just contacted them, and still trying to figure out what I should do. I know hatching eggs are a risk, but after reading all this, I'm wondering if I should open a case with eBay against them. Any suggestions?

I have fertile Belgium d'andver eggs if interested. Here is a pic of one of my hens who hatched two chicks. First chick is a sex link mix the second one is a Belgium d'andver. I'm in Cali though so don't know if that will be an issue
