Is it odd to get mostly roosters when you hatch chicks? I have hatched about two medium sized groups of chicks and a little more than half were roosters.

Nope. It's just luck of the draw. People talk about most hatches being roughly 50/50 (law of averages), but that's not a guarantee. If you look around the forum, you'll see people bemoaning hatches that were overwhelmingly cockerels.
I think a lot of it is chance. I dont incubate my own but I've noticed sometimes when I purchase chick, sometimes I'll get mostly pullets and the next time or next breed I'll get mostly roosters. I ordered 5 Phoenix chicks and 4 were roosters. That's a jackpot because the roosters are gorgeous! Good luck!

Hah! That's more like a written Law of the Universe than luck of the draw!
I'd have been thrilled with a little over half in 2014. I think I hit 85% cockerels.
Lots of meat for your freezer, then, huh?

Its not odd.I mean lots of time people hatch cocks other then pullets.
I want all roosters so I usually end up with a bunch of pullets we eat
