sick Toulouse goose

She seems to be at least stabilizing...no worse. I picked up a worm-er from the feed store but they had nothing else. I'll catch and check her again tomorrow and give her more AC. I followed her for about 30 minutes today while I had a chance and no poop...which concerns me....or I blinked....but her eye does seem some better. Will keep you posted. Thanks again for checking....

Thank goodness she is no worse. the activated charcoal can cause constipation that's why you have to be careful not to over do and go by directions. What is the wormer?

The name of it is Wazine 17. I'm concerned because the doses are for 200 plus birds....I may just make them some raspberry leaf tea! Athena seems be be better but I'm noticing that when the other are resting...and sitting down, she continues to stand....I'm going to get hold of her again and do another once over.

Wazine is only for round worms so that isn't going to get the gizzard worms and other types. Do you have another feed store you can try? Alot times when 2-3 are laying down one will stand sleeping so maybe that doesn't mean anything. I have found too that all natural products won't kill parasites if they have them but can keep the gut free from them once they are killed off. ACV will help keep worms down too but first all worms have to be killed off and Valbazen and Safe guard are the 2 safest.

She has wrenched her wing. Finally got a good hold of her and there is a place where her wing meets her back...looks like it hurts. some feather missing but she really doesn't seem worse. I've put a live stock wound spray on her and we'll see.....she's still grazing and waddling around with the other two. Zeus is watching her closely and doesn't like me getting too close to his girls. Athena is pooping and splashing in the puddles. I'm feeling much better about her. Having you to talk with sure has helped I'll keep up informed. and Thanks again.

Glad to hear she is still grazing and waddling around . Do you think something may have gotten hold of her or she got caught in something and wrenched it trying to pull herself free.? Thanks for updating and hope for full recovery.

She is so much better today...I can't figure out where she may have wrenched it...so it feels like something maybe might have tried to get her...I know we've had opossums in the past...but I didn't see any bite marks...will keep a close eye though...it sure is nice having someone to talk to about this...thanks again.
Peace,

Peace,
I'm glad to hear she is much better. I had to go back and make sure you said your in Western NC because we have alot of predators Fox coyote mink weasel bear bobcat raccoon and of course opossum. So you can see why my flock has to be locked up at night they'd be killed off rather quick. Plus we also have hawks we have even seen an Eagle down along the river. and large owls at night

Thanks for updating Sounds like she is going to be okay.
