HELP, Black Swan Hatching in Incubator!!

Congrats! I'd say no harm at all in getting a Seb gosling(s).. especially if these are calmer and more to your liking. The cygnet is still very young so it will bond with the new goslings and you would be able to part with the egyptians if you wish.

I'd love to see a black swan in a flock of seb geese actually... LOL

The last of another 6 cygnets just hatched in the incubator. 5 Mute and 1 Australian Black. I feel blessed to have accomplished what I read is very difficult. I think a lot of it was pure luck. I had 10 eggs growing. My 10 week old Australian Black is a joy beyond belief and no doubt it looks at me as it's mom. I have to decide what I'm going to do for water for the 2 Aussies which I intend to keep. Presently I"m putting it in a 100 gallon Rubbermaid trough, 2 feet deep for a while every other day and it's a hoot to watch it. They sure love their water and bathing.

Go ahead, ask me how peafowl breeding is going. One peahen has laid 3 eggs ........... from the roost so dropped 5 feet to the ground and broke, LOL!!!

Want to thank everyone that replied to my post.......I appreciate it. Sorry if I didn't get back to you ........I've been crazy busy.

How neat! I'm hoping you will keep us updated, I have 2 mute swans and just love them.

I'd love to keep a pair of the Mute's but with no water source I'd have to create something for 4 swans which would be much more difficult and costly. I've read Mute's are quite a bit larger in size then Black Australian. Is that true? I'm thinking smaller is better for me so I don't get beat up by them to much, LOL!!!

Would you sell the swan or Egyptian geese I would be interested I could trade also.

Blueraven, I think we spoke about me not wanting to ship any birds. I've never done it and isn't there something complicated about it? I gave the geese to the people that pinioned them and the swan and will also be pinioning these 6 this weekend. I do have a friend that has some egyptian geese and sells eggs if you'd like to hatch some. They free range on the property and big pond but Doug gets the eggs from the nests, hatches and sells them. He does ship eggs. Let me know and I'll find his website.

Thanks much for your help and suggestions.

We are being given a batch of mute swan eggs. Does anybody have advice instructions pointers on incubating and hatching them. We've never incubated anything what do we need? What is pipping? Still air or circulated? Automatic turner?
